SPCL was established in the year 1992 by two technocrats, Mr C R N Murthy and Mr Suhas G Tiwari. Started as an ancillary unit for VST Tillers & Tractors, SPCL today is one of the leading precision component manufacturers for automobile, hydraulics, railway, earth-moving & other agricultural equipment, textile and electronics industries.

The company is specialised in machining of aluminium, cast iron and steel forgings. Some of the component manufactured includes gear housing, hydraulic case for tractors, railway bearing adaptors, clutch housing, differential brake housing, fuel injection pumps, etc. SPCL is an ISO/TS 16949/2009 company and has a manufacturing facility at Doddanekundi Industrial Estate in Bangalore. The promoters also own Shakti Auto Cam Pvt. Ltd (SACL), which is the holding company of SPCL holding 66.57% stake. SACL is engaged in manufacturing automotive components
