API Ispat & Powertech Pvt Ltd incorporated in 2004, was acquired by the Raipur based Real group in October 2014 to strengthen backward integration within the group. The plant of the company is located at the Industrial Area, Raipur (CG). API has facilities for manufacturing sponge iron, billet and power with annual capacities of 105,000 MT, 86,400 and 15 MW respectively. The Real group, on a consolidated level, has production facilities for sponge iron, billets/blooms, TMT bars, wire drawing and power with annual capacities of 255,000 MT, 306,400 MT, 250,000 MT, 100,000 MT and 43 MW respectively
In 2014-15, as per the audited financial statements, API reported an operating income of Rs. 143.57 crore and a net profit of Rs. 0.40 crore, as against an operating income of Rs. 61.02 crore and a net loss of Rs. 51.74 crore in 2013-14. During the first four months in 2015-16, API reported an operating income of Rs. 72.80 crore and a profit before tax of Rs. 2.15 crore.
