Mukand Ltd is planning to set up an integrated steel plant in Village- Kanakapur in Koppal district of Karnataka. The project involves setting up of a 0.7 mtpa integrated steel plant with an investment of Rs. 31920 million. It involves setting up of sinter plant of 866910 tpa, blast furnac eof 790000 tpa, steel melt shop of 736842 tpa, rolling mill of 700,000 tpa, a captive power plant of 30 MW, air separation plant of 350 tpd, coke oven plant of 200,000 tpa. As of March 2018, the project is in the process of getting initial statutory clearances.
