Established in 1985, SVL is primarily engaged in the manufacture of structural steel (largely comprising MS angles, channels, etc.) at its facility located in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The manufacturing facility has an induction furnace with a capacity of 30,000 tonnes per annum and a rolling mill with a capacity of 36,000 tonnes per annum. The company is also engaged in trading in scrap and structural steel, which contributed Rs.90.0 crore to revenues during 2011-12.
