Incorporated in 1994, Sumi Vyapaar Private Limited was acquired by Mr. Shyam Sunder Sonthalia and Anup Kumar Sonthalia in 2004. The firm’s name was changed to Shriram Power & Steel Private Limited in August, 2008. In November, 2011, the business was taken over by K P Sharda Group.
SPSPL currently has a 100 TPD sponge iron manufacturing facility at Ramgarh, Jharkhand. The company is also engaged in trading of coal, MS ingots, MS rods, sponge iron and clothes. R.K.Minerals, a wholly owned subsidiary of SPSPL, is engaged in crushing and trading of iron ore. A major portion of the requirement of iron ore by SPSPL is procured from R.K.Minerals
