Shri Shyam Ispat (India) Pvt Ltd (SSI), incorporated in August 2002, was acquired by Kolkata-based Singhal group in Dec2008. SSI is engaged in the manufacturing of sponge iron (with a capacity of 90,000 MTPA) at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. In Nov 2013, the company has set up 18,000 MTPA billets/ingots facility along with 18MW power plant [6MW based on waste heat recovery based (WHRB) and 12MW on coal based] at a cost of Rs.86.68 crore (funded at a debt equity ratio of 2.1:1).
Furthermore, the company is in the process of enhancing its sponge iron capacity by 30,000 TPA by Dec 2015 at a cost of Rs.11 crore (being funded by internal accruals). SSI is a part of the Singhal group, engaged in the manufacturing and trading of steel and related products through its various group companies for more than two decades. During FY14, SSI reported a profit of Rs.4.76 crore on a total operating income of Rs.140.22 crore. In 9MFY15, the company reported PBT of Rs.5.61 crore on net sales of Rs.130.76 crore.
