About the Company :
The Sandur Manganese deposits were exploited even early to 1907. There are Historical events that these deposits are even worked during Tippu Sultan period. The General Sandur Mining Company (Belgium) acquired the mining right in 1907 from M/s. Joban (Jambon) and Co., Ltd., and the Manganese and Iron Ltd was established by his Highness late Shrimanth Yeshwanth Rao Hindurao Ghorpade in 1954.
Later he converted the company as Public Ltd., in 1964. The total lease is in 47.15 hector act of which Deogiri in 1886 hector. Sandur Manganese Ore Ltd operates a M S Ingot unit of 6000 tpa in Vysankare unit in Bellary.
