About the Company :
Minera Steel & Power (formerly KMMI Steel, (Kariganur Mining & Mineral Industries ) of Wahab Group was founded in 1957 by Late Mr. Hussain Peeran. Now grown into a mining company, the company has started exporting iron ore to China and ventured into wind power generation. The company had also set up a sponge iron plant with a capacity of 120000 tpa.
Presently it is operating a 120000 TPA sponge iron capacity and 8 MW of power plant (using waste gases). Further it is commissioning a 20 MT induction furnace and 40 MT electric arc furnaces and a 22 MW power plant (to operate from coal and Dolo-Char). The company also acts as a domestic sales arm for iron ore and sells iron ore to players like JSW, Shatvahana Steel etc. It is also operating two wind mills of 4 MW capacity.
