HKT Mining Pvt Ltd has setup a sponge iron plant with a capacity of 2 x 100 TPD at Danapur in Hospet. An investment of about Rs.20 crores has been made for the unit. This Sponge Iron plant has come in production since later part of 2004-05, HKT has also taken effective steps for forward integration by putting up steel making and rolling mill units with this and the supply of Iron Ore, the plant will be integrated steel plant with a capacity of about 90,000 tonnes of steel. HKT Mining is a part of privately held BMM Group.
