GHIL was founded by N.P. Tekriwal, Ashok Maskara and Rohit Maskara. GHILs facility is based in the village of Kanaiyabe in Bhuj district of state of Gujarat, India. It is strategically located about 350 kilometers northwest of Mumbai, on 138 acres of land, close to the ports of both Kandla and Mundra as well as to the rail station in Gandhidham/Bhuj. The plant currently has an annual operating capacity of 105,000 metric tons of sponge iron, 100,800 metric tons of billets, and 96,000 metric tons of rolled structural products.
The company’s plant has the flexibility to use indigenous 100 percent iron ore lumps or any mix of lump ore and pellets. It has state-of-the-art operating equipment and a fully computerized process control system that delivers high quality feedstock for steel-making. GHIL uses lump iron ore with 60+ percent ferrous content in its feed mix, giving it a significant cost advantage over competition.
