About the Company :
ECL was incorporated in 1955. It is one of the leading manufacturers of Ductile Iron Pipes (DI Pipes) in the world. The company has over 16 years of experience in DI Pipe manufacturing. The key business areas include manufacturing of Ductile Iron and Cast Iron (CI) Pipes, and Execution of Turnkey water & sewerage management contracts. The Company has a total capacity of 280,000 TPA for DI pipes and 90,000 TPA for CI pipes.
The company manufacturing facilities are located at Khardah and Haldia in West Bengal and Elavur in Tamil Nadu. The Company has a Coking Coal Mine with estimated geological reserves of 231.2 mn MT at Parbatpur (Jharia, Jharkhand) and has also been allotted an Iron Ore mine at Kodolibad (Jharkhand). ECL has a captive power plant of 12 MW at Haldia and 3.75 MW at Khardah. The Company has an international presence in South East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East & Gulf, Africa, Europe and US.
ECL has an associate company called Electrosteel Steels Limited (ESL) which is setting up a 2.51 MTPA integrated steel cum DI Pipe Plant in Bokaro with a total project cost of about Rs 9562 cr. The plant has achieved COD in Sep 2010 and TMT bars assembly line is operational now. ECL has infused equity of about Rs 880 cr so far in ESL.
Another associate company of ECL is Lanco Industries Ltd (LIL) which ECL acquired in 2002 and where it has a stake of 48.54%. Lanco has an installed capacity of 225,000 TPA DI Pipes. Now that company had been renamed as Srikalahasti Pipes Ltd
