Bellary Steel and Alloys Ltd was incorporated under the name Bellary Steels and Alloys (Mini Steel Plant) Pvt. Ltd at Bellary in Karnataka. It was amalgamated with Bellary Steels & Alloys Private Ltd in 1985. The name was changed to Bellary Steels and Alloys Ltd in 1989.
The company`s principal activity is to manufacture and market steel ingots, billets, steel structurals and re-rolled products and sponge iron. It also manufactures a wide range of value-added alloy and special steel products used in automobile and engineering industries. Currently, the company is continuing its full efforts to obtain foreign investment from overseas investors towards additional equity, so that its Power project and Blast Furnace could be completed in the first phase.
