BAPL is engaged in the manufacturing of Sponge Iron, Billets and Crushing of Iron ore. Presently the company sources its raw material for Sponge Iron Division i.e. iron ore and coal under linkage from National Mineral Development Corporation and South Eastern Coalfields Limited. BAPL manufactures sponge iron through coal based rotary kilns (4 x 50 tpd rotary kilns). The sponge iron is converted into billets through Electric Arc Furnace and Induction Furnace, Ladle Refining Furnace, integrated 7/14 Meter Radius Concast with high powered transformer, water cooled panels and roofs, continuous DRI/Lime/coke feeding system with automation, melt controllers etc. The company has 8MW power generation capacity, which is waste heat recovery based power plant (WHRP) and coal fired also. WHRP works on the flue gases from sponge iron kilns.
