Prakash Sponge & Power is planning to expand its steel plant in Heggere & Kaparahalli, Challakere Takuk in Chitradurga district of Karnataka. The project involves setting up of a DRI plant of 90,000 tpa, installation of induction furnace unit of 2 x 40T, billet production unit expansion from 1,29,600 tpa to 4,80,240 tpa, expansion of WHRB from 7.1 MW to 73 MW.
