Incorporated in January 2003, Utkal Metallics Limited (UML) was promoted by Mr. Manjit Singh Panesar, Mr. Sarabjit Singh Panesar, Mr. Bipin Kumar Gupta, Mr. Ram Kumar Agarwal, and Mr. Hardeep Singh to set up a manufacturing plant for sponge iron. The company has started its commercial operations from November 2003 onwards and it has been engaged in manufacturing of sponge iron at its plant located at Rourkela, Odisha with aggregate installed capacity of 24000 metric tons per annum.
