Hindustan Copper to expand copper ore mines in Jharkhand

Hindustan Copper is planning to re-open its closed Rakha mines in Jharkhand. It plans to invest over ₹ 60,000 million to increase its ore production five times from the current level of 4.1 million tonne (MT) by 2025. It also plans to start operations at the Chapri-Sidheswar mines Jharkhand. The company plans to develop the mines through the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) route.

It may be noted that, the company has also applied for the necessary licenses to explore new copper deposits in Alwar, Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Chhitorgarh in Rajasthan, Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh and East Singhbhum in Jharkhand.
