Supershakti Metaliks Ltd (a part of Super Smelters Ltd) is planning to expand its steel unit in Kanjilal Avenue in Durgapur in Paschim Bardhman district of West Bengal. The project involves expanding mild steel wire rod production capacity from 162000 tpa to 192000 tpa and an additional unit of 60,000 TPA capacity of HB wires. It will set up an additional 15 T induction furnace , 36 sets of HB Wire Drawing machine and 4X10T Bell Annealing Furnace. Land required for the project is already available. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 900 million. As of January 2019, the project is in planning stage.
