KIOCL Ltd is planning to set up pelletization plants in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh for steel plants of RINL (Vizag Steel Plant), SAIL Plants of Bhilai in Odisha and Bokaro in Jharkhand.
Each of the pelletization plant will have a capacity of 2.0 million tpa and will procure raw material from rail heads and need around 75 acres of land. Visakhapatnam plant will produce flux pellets that will reduce additives in blast furnace and the other two plants will produce blast grade pellets. Its Panambur plant is mainly used for export markets.
