Hindalco is planning to develop extrusion and recycling plant in Kutch in Gujarat. The company has signed an MoU with the state government in September 2018. The company will develop the projects in phased manner which will entail an investment of Rs. 36,000 million. The extrusion plant will have a capacity of 137,000 tonnes, and the recycling plant will be set up with a capacity of 300,000 tonnes per annum. It may be noted that, the company has two extrusion plants in Uttar Pradesh and Kerala, with a combined capacity of 60,000 tonnes per annum.
