Shri Mahavir Ferro Alloys Pvt Ltd is planning to expand its steel plant in Jiabahal in Kalunga Industrial Estate in Sundergarh district of Odisha. The project involves expanding sponge iron capacity by setting up 4 x 350 tpd unit, steel melt shop of 0.4 mtpa, captive power plant of 40 MW, a mini blast furnace of 0.15 mtpa and a coal washery of 200 TPH, pelletization plant of 2300 tpd, a rolling mill of 0.35 mtpa, a ferro alloy production unit by 2 x 18 MVA furnaces. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 6100 million.
