Orissa Metaliks Ltd of Rashmi Group is planning to expand its steel plant in Gokulpur in Shyamraipur in Kharagput Tehsil in Pachim Midnapur district of West Bengal. The project involves setting up of blast furnace of 2 x 550 cu.meter with a capacity of 1.0 mtpa, sinter plant of capacity 1.0 mtpa, DRI plant of 0.5 mtpa, steel making facilities of ladle furnace, basic oxygen furnace (1.0 mtpa), ferro alloy plant of 0.12 mtpa, coke oven plant of 0.5 mtpa, lime dolomite plant of 200 tpd, oxygen plant of 200 tpd, hot rolling mill of 0.6 mtpa and a captive power plant of 225 MW. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 17,000 million.
