From a humble beginning in 1953 with a small factory in Howrah, West Bengal, Shyam Steel Industries Limited stands proud today as one of India’s major producers of Steel Re-Bars and Structurals.
Incorporated in March 2002 and having commenced its commercial operation in October 2003, is promoted by Shyam Sundar Beriwala of Kolkata. The company is currently engaged in manufacturing of TMT bars with an installed capacity of 3,30,000 MTPA at its manufacturing facility located at Durgapur, West Bengal. As a part of the backward integration process, the company also operates sponge iron and billets facility along with captive power plant. The company sells its TMT bars under the brand name of “Shyam TMT”. During FY14 the company earned a PAT of Rs.8.6 crore on a total income of Rs.888.9 crore. As per the provisional results for 9MFY15, the company earned a PBT of Rs.14.7 crore and on net sales of Rs.638.9 crore.
